DHAANNESSH BALASUNDRAM (KIG180032)

In the beginning phase of planning i felt a bit anxious because due to circumstance put forth by the Covid-19 , all the mechanics and ideas of how to conduct the project change . Because , we we not allowed to meet anyone in public and also abide by the rules placed by the administration to curb the spread of the disease. it was obvious that the project would have to be conducted via the internet to abide by all the standards and rules put in place by the faculty . Then , it felt a bit confused as to the scope of activities or competition we had to conduct as there we many good ideas suggested by my fellow team members . the with the help of our lecturer we finally agreed to go with an online designing competition for primary school students who are currently also in their break . Then we did the posteres and started the recruitment of the participants .

in the beginning , the recruitment of participants we very underwhelming , we got about 2 individuals who registered . i got scared that maybe the project will not be a success because , either students we not interested in joining the competition or maybe they had technical difficulties based on their laptops/desktops . Soon, we realised that to get more participants we will have a better chance if we open the competition to all school students . Soon after that , we had a wave of new participants competing for the cash prize. i was placed in charge of directly corresponding with the participants . They were very persistent with all their enquiries about the competitions . sometimes , they would text me at odd hours asking their questions . in the beginning , i felt a bit annoyed that they we asking so many questions but the i soon learned that i had to be patient when dealing with them , because they are kids and they inquisitive and they must not know exactly how to ask questions properly . so i took time to clear any doubts or questions they had regarding the competition.

During the competition there were a few technical hiccups , but all in all the project went through smoothly . All their designs were unique and brilliant . i was quite surprised they were able to achieve it even having little time getting to know the software . i learn to never underestimate someone based on their age . somethings , i took away personally from this project is the that i can work together will by teammates well even on the internet , i also learned that i have to be patients when dealing with children . i also appreciated the chance to learn the online CAD software as i myself was not aware of it . all in all it was a good project and i enjoyed being part of it
